Cornwall Finishing School Module-3

Mr. Cornwall's Finishing School – Module 3

Are there any harmful chemicals in Odie’s products?

Nope! No harmful chemicals, solvents, VOCs, or hardeners here—just pure, safe goodness.

What can Odie’s be used on?

Virtually any surface! Wood, concrete, clay, marble, brick, metal, plastic, leather, epoxy… you name it, Odie’s can handle it.

Can Odie’s products be used outdoors?

Absolutely! All Odie’s products are outdoor-ready—except for our dark finishes.

Does Odie's offer UV and weather protection?

Yes! Odie’s naturally resists UV and mold, but for extra defense, try mixing in Mr. Cornwall's Creative Colours—think of it as sunblock for your project. Just refresh as needed and keep the surface clean. (And remember: No dark finishes outdoors!)

How do I clean Odie’s-finished surfaces?

Three easy ways:

  1. Vinegar mix – 1 part vinegar, 10 parts water (wipe with a terry cloth).
  2. Soapy water – Dish soap works, but rinse well and dry.
  3. Odie’s Cleaning Concentrate – Just mix 2% cleaner with 98% water in a spray bottle, spritz, wipe, and dry.

When should I refresh my finish?

Probably not for years—but when the time comes, just clean the surface and apply a light coat. Easy!

Can I use Odie’s over an existing stain or finish?

Sure! But for the best results, go straight onto raw wood. Or, get creative and mix your own custom color with Mr. Cornwall's Creative Colours + Odie’s Oil.

How long does opened Odie’s last on the shelf?

Depends on storage, but Bloxygen (a finish preserver) can help extend its life. Grab some here.

Why is my Bloxygen can so light?

Because it’s a gas! Totally normal—don’t worry, it’s working.

Why is the wax so hard?

That’s how a real hard wax should be! Just warm it up in your hands before use.

Can I mix pigments into Odie’s Oils?

Yes! Any oil-compatible pigment works, but for foolproof results, we recommend Mr. Cornwall’s Creative Colours.

Do I need to sand between coats?

Nope! But you can if you want an ultra-smooth finish.
