Mr. Cornwall’s Creative Colours

Mr. Cornwall’s Creative Colours—high-quality, pure powdered pigments crafted for both masters and beginners. Made from natural earth metals, these pigments are finely ground, fully oxidized, and completely stable, meaning they won’t fade over time. Plus, they offer UV protection—like sunscreen for your wood!

Why Powdered Pigments?

We selected pure powdered pigments to give you the best tools for customizing finishes in the Odie’s all-natural system. Use them to create:

  • Decorative, water-repellent stains
  • Custom patinas
  • Color-matched protective finishes

Ideal for woodworking, flooring, furniture making, carpentry, art work, and so much more!

With Odie’s, you are never restricted to “one right way” – you have complete authority! Mix as little or as much as you need, adjust pigment strength, or blend colors to create something truly unique.

3 Easy Methods of Preparing Your Stain:

1. Oil ‘Stain’ – Odie’s (Oil, Super Duper Oil, Solvent Free Super Penetrating Oil) Stains:

  • Combine the dye with oil of your choice.
  • Using a non woven pad, apply in small circular motions (pad grit is higher than the last sanding).
  • For Terrycloth Towel: Let it sit for 10 minutes to an hour, then buff off everything.
  • If extra coats are desired, wait 1-5 days based on wood, humidity, etc.

2. Solvent Stain: Great for higher levels of penetrating!

  • Mix 1 part Odie’s Oil with 2parts Odie’s Safer Solvent.
  • Add pigment, shake well (pigments settle—keep mixing!).
  • Apply & buff just like the oil-based version.

3. Patinating Wax (For subtle, layered effects!)

  • Use a non-woven pad to apply thinly.
  • Let it rest for about an hour and then buff out what’s in excess.

Pro Tips

✔ Test first! Test your combination on leftover pieces or on parts that are rarely viewed.
✔ Each wood piece is different as each will soak in color in unconventional ways.
✔ A well-sanded surface will give a better result for finishing so preparation is a must.
✔ Make sure to enjoy yourself, and remember color is subjective.
